The Lumen Photography Foundation and ARC undertook a joint photographic project to show the different faces of Budapest on a specific day. The choice was made for 23 May 2003, when the project’s promoters invited twenty-six photographers to capture this twenty-four hours of the day according to their own vision, tastes and interests. Their images reveal the typical faces and the striking phenomena of a diverse metropolis, with the heroes of everyday life and the city’s inhabitants themselves taking centre stage. In the end, hundreds of images of the private history of the present were selected, from which 75 were selected and exhibited this summer at Millenáris.
